Romanian Witch Protest
Have you heard about the witches?

The ones in Romania?

The ones who orchestrated a group assembly yesterday to place curses on the government?

For the first time in Romanian history the witches, warlocks, fortune tellers, astrologers, dragon tamers, Samantha Stevens (yes I am that old), and Harry Potter are being required to register their professions and pay taxes. They will now be included in the Romanian labor codes and will pay 16% income tax and make contributions to health and pension programs, like other self-employed people. (Do registered witches charge more than unregistered ones?)

This is being done in an attempt to bring into alignment the sun, moon, stars, and failing economy. I can only guess the practitioners of these cursing arts must be doing a bang up business if taxing their combined professions would right a failing economy.

Superstitions are no laughing matter in Romania

  1. Very timely, Wanda. I’m working on Port Call to the Future, the sequel to House Call to the Past, which features Maria Hallett, my 13th great aunt who was accused of witchcraft on Cape Cod back in the early 1700s. If I run across any appropriate spells she might have cast on the hierarchy of that time, I’ll be sure to pass it on to you.

Go Wanda! This might be the very thing to get our fearless leaders to actually lead.

Just a question, when will you have TIME to be a witch in addition to all the other hats you already wear?

  4. Roxanne

Wanda, I thought you already were a witch. I’ve been told that you have whipped up some pretty good spells all on your own. Loved the story.

Allrighty then…… let me know how that pans out, since I have a few on my list that need to be (de)spelled…… Love, just love it!!!

Ooh yes, keep us all informed. Or maybe we can do the same and require the legalization of prostitution. See what kind of witchery that stirs up. haha

  7. What a information of un-ambiguity and preserveness of valuable experience on the topic of unpredicted feelings.
